Letter to Minister Vic Fedeli on Bill 197: COVID-19 Economic Recovery Act, 2020

See our letter to Minister Vic Fedeli regarding Bill 197.

A brief spotlight for Odonaterra on Bill 197 - which was passed without legal consultation and will result in major amendments to the Environmental Assessment Act - all at a time when Ontarians and Indigenous communities are grappling with the real challenges (education, childcare, long-term care facilities, small business) of trying to recover from COVID-19. https://www.erisinfo.com/…/environmental-industry-implicat…/

Respect, reconciliation, and anti-racism

We have been watching with horror the events of racial violence that have been unfolding this week in the United States. Of course, we know that systemic racism exists in Canada as well. We want to let our clients and social media community know that our core values are to respect diversity and to play a meaningful part in achieving reconciliation with indigenous peoples who have, and continue to suffer from systemic racism. Our hearts go out to those of you who suffer from racism and all the other 'isms' that diminish us as human beings. Please know that we stand with you.

COVID-19 update: Odonaterra suspending travel to communities

Given the current situation within Canada regarding the spread of COVID-19, we feel it necessary to issue a statement regarding actions our company is taking to limit the spread of infection.  Odonaterra is especially concerned about the spread of COVID-19 to our Indigenous clients and the northern communities that we work with and within, given existing health vulnerabilities and the number of health challenges that some Indigenous communities already face. Elders of these communities also require special consideration and protections. As such, we feel that suspending our travel to Indigenous communities at this time is the responsible and necessary thing to do, and we will provide updates as the situation evolves.

Thank you for your understanding and patience at this time. Stay safe and well!
