Plan
What do we want to achieve in future and how will we get there?
Decolonized Planning, Policy and Laws
Through decolonized planning, policy, and law development, we empower communities to outline a vision for future relationships with lands and resources, and methods and processes for achieving that vision.
Our services include supporting clients to:
Create community-led strategic and environmental stewardship plans.
Develop customized consultation plans and policies for engaging with project proponents and governments.
Establish culturally relevant policies, including land codes, land laws, and environmental assessment laws.
Understand planning, policy, and legislation through training programs and guidance documents.
Our approach empowers communities to:
Identify goals for people, the environment, and the economy.
Assert jurisdiction over lands and resources on reserve and in the broader territory.
Have a say in how they want to be consulted on projects and how they want to be accommodated for impacts on rights and interests.
Advocate for, and directly participate in, governance, legislation, and oversight of development projects and climate change actions.
The result is that project proponents and government agencies:
Align consultation and engagement activities with community preferences.
Engage collaboratively in decision-making processes.
Respect community plans and objectives in regional plans and projects.
